FPE Bursaries 2021-2022 Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education Bursary
The Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (FPE) provides both Undergraduate as well as Postgraduate Pharmacy students with a wide range of Bursary opportunities. Prospective applicants are those in financial need, studying an Undergraduate/Postgraduate Pharmacy Degree at an accredited South African Tertiary Institution. Students should boast a strong academic record. The FPE Bursary Programme is provided to second year Undergraduate students and Postgraduate students.

The Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA) was formed in 1946 and is an amalgamation of various other South African Pharmaceutical Societies. The PSSA serves to promote the economic interests of its members and the pharmaceutical profession at large. The PSSA aims to maintain the positive image of the Pharmaceutical profession, while striving to maintain the health and well-being of South Africa’s diverse population.

Closing Date of the Bursary
Please note that the applications for the FPE Bursary Programme have two separate closing dates:

Applications for the Undergraduate bursaries are currently closed. These bursaries will open again in June 2021.
Applications for the Postgraduate bursaries close on the 30 April 2021.
Please note that applications received after the closing date will not be considered for the FPE Bursary Programme.

About the Bursary
The FPE Bursary Programme aims to provide financial assistance to students in need who boast strong academic records. Prospective applicants are those in financial need, studying an Undergraduate/Postgraduate Pharmacy Degree at an accredited South African Tertiary Institution.

FPE Bursary Requirements and Eligibility
Please note that prospective applicants need to satisfy all of the requirements of the FPE Bursary to be considered for the programme:

Undergraduate Bursary:

Applications are open to South African citizens ONLY.
Applicants who have successfully obtained their National Senior Certificate (NSC).
Applicants who are in their second year of their Pharmacy degree.
Applicants who study at an accredited South African Tertiary Institution.
Applicants who boast an academic average over 60%.
Applicants who are PSSA student members.
Applicants who are in financial need.
Postgraduate Bursary:

Applications are open to South African citizens ONLY.
Applicants who have successfully obtained their National Senior Certificate (NSC).
Applicants who study at an accredited South African Tertiary Institution.
Applicants who have successfully obtained their BPharm undergraduate degree.
Applicants who are studying either a Masters or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy.
Applicants who are PSSA student members.

How to apply for the Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education Bursary – Undergraduate
Kindly note that applications for the Undergraduate Bursaries are currently closed. The Undergraduate FPE Bursary Application form will be available on the following link, in June 2021 – Undergraduate Bursary Form.

The following supporting documentation should be attached to the applicant’s application form:

The applicant should attach a certified copy of their ID certificate.
The applicant should provide a certified copy of their full academic history.
The applicant should provide a letter of motivation from one of their lecturers.
The applicant should provide a certified copy of their parent(s)/guardian(s) income.
The applicant should provide a certified copy of their National Senior Certificate (NSC).
Failure to adhere to the application requirements will result in the application being disregarded.

The Postgraduate FPE Bursary Application form is available on the following link – Postgraduate bursary Form.

The following supporting documentation should be attached to the applicant’s application form:

The applicant should attach a certified copy of their ID certificate.
The applicant should provide a certified copy of their full academic history.
The applicant should provide a certified copy of their parent(s)/guardian(s) income.
The applicant should provide a summary of their research project/thesis/dissertation.
Failure to adhere to the application requirements will result in the application being disregarded.
