The South African Police Service (SAPS) has confirmed that deputy national police commissioner Shadrack Sibiya’s disciplinary hearing was held today.
However, during the hearing, Sibiya requested a postponement to allow him additional time to consult with his legal team.

His request was granted, and the hearing is set to resume on Monday 12th October.
The disciplinary hearing relates to allegations of corruption and misconduct that arose during the Madlanga Commission.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe also confirmed that Sibiya has approached the Labour Court in a bid to have the disciplinary hearing halted completely.
