ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP
The learnership program lasts for 2 years.
Successful candidates will receive a MERSETA Metals Manufacturing qualification (NQF Level 2) upon completion.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 2 weeks of the application deadline, while those who do not receive feedback should accept that their application was unsuccessful.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Interested candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:
South African citizen
Completed Matric
Achieved a minimum of 40% for Mathematics or 60% for Mathematical Literacy in Matric
Willing to become a process or equipment in the metals production environment
Strong technical ability
Good hand-eye coordination
Motivated to learn new skills
Good work ethic
Energetic
Disciplined
Willing to work overtime and shifts

The company’s range of products includes everything from wristwatches to kitchen sinks. Columbus Stainless offers three types of stainless steel – ferritic, austenitic, and duplex.
The company is offering a learnership programme that runs over the course of 2 years, which aims to provide successful applicants with a MERSETA Metals Manufacturing qualification at NQF Level 2.
The learnership will provide students with the necessary skills to become process or equipment operators in the metals production environment.
Applicants who are South African citizens and who have completed their matriculation with a minimum of 40% for Mathematics or 60% for Mathematical Literacy, as well as good hand-eye coordination, a strong technical ability, and a willingness to learn new skills are encouraged to apply.
Successful applicants will be trained in various aspects of the production process, which will provide them with practical and theoretical experience. Learners will also receive a monthly stipend during their training period.
