ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDER – OLD MUTUAL / IMFUNDO TRUST
The Imfundo Trust was established by the Old Mutual Investment Group in 2011, as a scholarship initiative. The Trust provides funding for students to pursue studies at tertiary level, within the investments industry.

Imfundo comes from the Nguni languages of southern Africa – it means “The acquisition of knowledge; the process of becoming educated” and that is the aim of the Trust – to help students further their education.

ABOUT THE OLD MUTUAL IMFUNDO TRUST SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED
The Old Mutual Investment Group is inviting students to apply for funding, through the Imfundo Trust Scholarship, for the 2023 academic year.

Scholarships will be awarded for studies within these fields:

Business
Climate Studies (Postgraduate)
Commerce
Computer Science and related qualifications
Data Science
Engineering
Finance
Management Sciences / Studies

MORE ABOUT THE OLD MUTUAL IMFUNDO TRUST SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME – SELECTION

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited to attend an interview. The Board of Trustees will consider the outcome of the interview and any other relevant factors when making the final decision on granting the scholarships.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE OLD MUTUAL IMFUNDO TRUST SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

You must be a South African citizen
You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
You must be studying or intend on studying full-time, towards a qualification in one of the fields listed above
You must be entering your first or second year of study in 2023 (except for Climate Studies, which is only for postgraduate students)
You must be studying or intend on studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% in the mid-year Matric exams, with a minimum of 70% in Mathematics and 70% in English FAL or 60% in English HL, if currently in Matric
You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% in the most recent exams, if currently studying
Preference will be given to candidates from rural and township backgrounds
