The EY Bursaries are available throughout the year. There is no closing deadline.
About the EY Bursary

You will receive and develop the right skills through their training programs, the coaching of high-performing individuals, and access to the latest technology. If you have strong accounting skills, a high academic record, the ability to build relationships, and in financial need of assistance, you may apply for the EY bursary.
If you are one of the successful candidates, they will require you to work for the full term of your training contract, which is a minimum of three years.
What Happens Once You Enter a Training Contract with EY?
First-year trainees are called Assistants and will get to know the Clients and the Businesses. At the end of the year will write the first year Qualifying Exam 1 – Initial Test of Competence (ITC)
Second-year trainees are called Seniors and expected to contribute more and take on more responsibility. At the end of the second year, the trainees will need to write the Qualifying Exam 2 – Assessment of Professional Competence (APC)
Third and Final year trainees are called Supervisors and need to manage or take charge of a client portfolio, supervise and coach junior trainees. Once the Third year trainee passes both exams and completes the training, they will be registered with SAICA as a CA(SA).
What does this bursary cover?
There are two types of bursaries offered:
Academic Merit with Financial need bursary covers one or more, or a combination of:
Tuition
Accommodation
Books
It may include meals
2. Academic Merit with Financial need bursary covers only a portion of Tuition fees.
Who Can Apply?
Those who are currently studying or plan to study toward a Degree in Chartered Accounting, CA(SA).
Requirements:
If you do not meet the following requirements, they will not consider your application.
South African Citizenship
If in Matric an Academic Record with Grade 11 results, a minimum of 4 A’s (excluding Life Orientation); that you will study toward a relevant CA degree (three to four years) and a year Accounting Honours / Certificate in Theory in Accounting (CTA)
If currently studying: must have achieved minimum results of 60% for each subject (June exams, if currently in your first year of study / final exams)
Proof of acceptance and/or enrolled at a SAICA (South Africa Institute of Chartered Accountants) accredited University.

Motivational Letter
Recent Fee Quotation from the applicable University
Proof of registration from the applicable University
Proof of household income (applicable for Academic Merit with Financial Need Bursary applications).

Select and click apply for the bursary you wish to apply
Attach a copy of your CV, ID Document, and Recent Transcript
An EY Recruiter or Bursary Co-ordinator will contact you
Upon receipt of all documentation, your application will be reviewed
If you meet the Bursary criteria you will be invited for a virtual video interview*
If you are successful, you will be offered a training contract (if not yet signed up with EY), and then you will be offered a Bursary Agreement.
