IT Varsity Bursary

If you can see yourself as an App Developer within a year, determined to succeed and hard-working, then you should apply for the ITvarsity Bursary. Employers look for individuals who possess educational qualifications as they see qualifications and certificates as proof of knowledge and skills.

Because of financial reasons, many students cannot pursue further tertiary education. As a joint project between Youth Capital and ITvarsity, they have introduced the #AppHustle competition.

If you meet the criteria, you could win a bursary worth R25,000 and find yourself launched into a career in App Development, Coding, and Web Design. As an institute that teaches practical development, in touch with the outside world, that understands global technology they provide students all they need to find their best IT careers.

Qualified students will have a solid understanding of computer industry concepts and work in areas of Systems Development. Assisting qualified students to gain memberships of registered professional bodies within the ICT industry and encourage professionalism across the Information Technology sector.

Who Can Apply?
Before applying you need to check if you meet the requirements for the ITvarsity Bursary by clicking ‘Who can apply?’ on the website.

Eligibility/Requirements:

South African Citizen
Completed Matric (minimum)
Aged between 18years old to 28 years old
Access to a computer
High-speed internet access
You can register at a center if you do not have a computer
Not studying at another educational facility
Commit to studying for at least 16 hours every week
Requirements:

Computer: Celeron with 4Gig RAM
Fast internet: 2mb per second
Data: 2Gig per month
How to Apply?
You can only apply online by completing the application form and provide the following documents.

Copy of ID Document
Matric certificate
Proof of residence
Provide an Affidavit confirming you are unemployed
Sign up for Module 0 of the Apptrepreneur course by completing the online form.

Once Module 0 is complete, you will begin learning how to code an App. At the end of the module, you are required to submit your project. A selection committee will evaluate and assess all projects submitted and the best project will win. Should you be the successful candidate you need to ensure all required documents are ready for submission.
